I´m a geek with around fifteen years interest and experience in internet culture under my belt - happily though, I´m still in my twenties and not nearly as old as that makes me sound!
I´m currently st
udying for an MSc in Cognitive Computing at Goldsmith´s University in London, England. What I plan to do after that is still up in the air for now, but I´m very tempted to pursue a PhD or perhaps get a "real" job that will enable me to pursue my interest in Artificial Intelligence and in particular the application of technology.
Prior to this, I´ve been a headhunter, building relationships with some very successful professionals in IT and mainly working at top investment banks, hedge funds and towards the end of my time as a headhunter, more in the security and defense industries. I´m very proud to call some of these people good friends, and will always be grateful for the skills I gained during this time, not to mention the perspective and insight into the economy.
Headhunter doesn´t sound too geeky does it
- however during this time I was also setting myself up to begin freelancing in web design and building programs for people. You´ll be able to see some examples in the Portfolio section on this site. I find myself mostly using PHP, XHTML, CSS, and Flex/Flash Actionscript 3, Server-Side Actionscript and Flash Media Server along with MySQL. It pays some of the bills at least
.
